This well-maintained budget motel offers a clean, functional room with modern amenities and a convenient location near downtown Walnut Creek. While most guests praise the friendly staff and value, inconsistent cleanliness and noise from a nearby freeway are notable downsides.
It's just a very nice, well-kept, nicely updated motel that has been around since the '60s I believe. The building has, at least. The staff is very friendly, the rooms are clean, large, well appointed, and have all the things you would expect in a motel. Decently comfortable bed, good pillows of different firmness, a comfortable sitting chair, a desk with a good office chair, a refrigerator, microwave, a decent sized flat screen TV with open HDMI ports you can actually get to (I bring my Fire TV Stick with me), free Wi-Fi that doesn't suck, coffee maker with decent coffee, nightstands with USB charging ports, hair dryer, soap/shampoo/conditioner/body wash dispensers, and really good water pressure (that's just a thing with me). Of course the rooms are all non-smoking, but they do have a small smoking area in the parking lot, which is very rare these days but much appreciated. One last bonus is how close the property is to downtown Walnut Creek. Easy walking distance. My only negative, and it's a very small one, is how narrow the parking spaces are. With everyone parked perfectly in the middle of the spaces, you'll hit the car next to you with your door if you don't carefully squeeze out of your car. You just need to be mindful of that. I can easily recommend this motel to anyone needing a budget friendly stay in Walnut Creek or the surrounding cities. You can't do better at the price point, but you could do a lot worse (looking at you, Motel with a six in the name and the motel right off the N Main St exit from 680).
Super friendly, and welcoming. Staff was wonderful . Rooms are very clean and comfortable extremely cute inn ! Will stay again
Stayed here a week ago for 2 nights, the whole stay was pleasant. Seems like the whole room is updated, a nice warm clean comfortable room with a queen bed. Especially loved thoughtful extra amenities! Felt 'at home'. The staff is helpful and friendly. There is safe parking and it was a walkable location to downtown and restaurants! Manager let me know I forgot something after I had got home, she mailed it out to me, very graciously, I appreciate the whole experience.
Not sure how this place has such high reviews. The bathroom didn’t have a fan and was full of mold. The windows and walls were so thin that you could hear everything outside and in the surrounding rooms. Would not recommend staying here. The guy at the front desk was very nice though.
Comfortable. Homey. Chance promised a great experience, and we had it. In all, family filled 4 rooms. Parking was convenient, everyone was polite. If we are this way again, this is where we will stay.
We loved staying here! Came here because I was looking for a safe place to park my car while resting and I was pleased to see that the parking was very secure, well lit, and lots of cameras. The rooms were clean, comfortable and functional. The staff was very nice and helpful. Would definitely stay here again.
First off, Greta customer service with lady upon check in. Great parking and super convenient location. We dropped out stuff in the room and headed to the pavilion for a concert. Got back late…when I laid down an odor of old, dry urine was present from the mattress. In the morning upon exiting the shower, I was greeted with dried feces on the side of the toilet that wasn’t visually present at night. Gross. Upon check out, the guy at the front desk wasn’t overly concerned.
If you're looking for a clean, inexpensive motel to stay at in Walnut Creek, check out the Diablo mountain inn. The rooms are clean but a bit small and dated. There's not a lot of luxuries to be found, but if a decent night's sleep is what you're looking for, this will work. The motel is located on a busy street and underneath a significantly noisy freeway overpass. You get used to it. Parking is tight. Early Check-in is seemingly impossible it before 4:00 p.m. We tried and got a lecture about how they've already told us what the rules are.
God bless chance! What a woman, powerhouse, without her this place wouldn’t simply be the best inn near the interstate.
We stayed at Mt Diablo Inn for our granddaughters graduation. It was the perfect location to attend two ceremonies in Walnut Creek and Concord Pavillion. The room was clean and cozy, bed was a bit lumpy. Did let the office know when we checked out. Will definitely come back when we need to stay over in the area.
