The Hilton Garden Inn Walnut Creek is a newly opened hotel receiving largely positive feedback, highlighting cleanliness, friendly staff, and a convenient location near freeways and BART. However, recent reviews have raised concerns about parking availability, noise levels, and inconsistent service regarding amenities and billing.
The rooms were fine, no issues there. It said online that they offered free breakfast only to find out in the morning that you had to pay for breakfast which was very disappointing. We left the hotel hungry. There is no free wifi, and there was no one at the counter when we tried to check out of the hotel. Quite disappointing...
We stayed here for four nights a week ago and enjoyed our stay very much. We ate great breakfasts each morning and also stayed in one night and had a nice dinner in the dining room. The room was spotlessly clean and the room service workers were very thorough in making sure it stayed that way. I would highly recommend this hotel and plan to stay here again.
Stayed here for 8 days, 7 nights. Hotel rooms look just like the pictures. Towels were changed out daily which I really appreciated. Staff was nice. The only thing is there is a sign that they lock the door after midnight for safety purposes. However, multiple nights I came back to hotel around 1am and 2am and the doors were not locked. I was able to walk in and onto the elevators very easily. So they may wanna be more consistent about locking. But besides that, no complaints! Would recommend.
I stayed here recently and really enjoyed the hotel and room. I want to compliment Isaiah, the gentleman at the front desk, too for his exceptional service! He was very helpful, professional, and responsible, following through when I asked for his help on a few different things. Highly recommend.
I wanted to thank the front desk employee who is also head of housekeeping. They took the time to check for a lost item for me and were clear on communication and next steps. It was very much appreciated even though I was the one that forgot my item. Thank you very much!
Great hotel that is new, clean, in a good location with friendly staff and a well equipped gym! Beds were comfortable, shower had good water pressure though did take around a minute to warm up. In room coffee was good and they have coffee and hot water in the lobby during morning hours. There is a Starbucks very close, four minute drive. Gym has new Matrix equipment, all in very good working order. Three treads, two elliptical, a peloton, rower, cable machine w/ attachments, dumbbells up to 50lbs, and a bench. Towels and a water dispenser were in gym as well. Plus a BOSU ball, yoga ball, foam roller, and kettlebells. Front desk staff was friendly and helpful, greeting all as they came and left. Would recommend!
Outstanding service from first moment at reception to final check-out. We were a large family party with several rooms and guests joining us. The lobby was amazingly spacious and beautifully designed being able to accommodate our late breakfast gathering and after event hanging out with cousins. We are an exuberant family often breaking out into song and laughter but all staff were nice every minute we were there. Many thanks for making our family reunion an memorable event. The rooms so comfortable, quite, super clean, good layout. Best bargain prices too.
Had a late night check-in during the week, and had no issues getting settled in after reserving on Expedia. I believe Kelsey helped check me in and was great at helping answer all my questions. I was also offered a complimentary snack and bottled waters for joining the Hilton Honors program. Also, the fact that there is a fairly robust snack shop at reception was great, even though I didn’t use it much. The room itself was clean and had almost everything I needed for a one-night stay. Since I had brought my own food, I needed utensils which thankfully the front desk was able to provide (plastic or compostable). My room was unfortunately at the front of the hotel/street by which BART passes through, so there was a bit of street and train noise but nothing I couldn’t live with. The bed was comfortable and clean, but the pillows went a little too flat for me to get my best sleep. No issues with AC, and the room was as cool as I needed it to be. A fair bit of noise does spill into the room from the hallway, but it wasn’t very busy when I stayed and it was a non-issue. Bathroom and shower were also clean and organized. The hand soap for the sink was attached to the far wall, so it was slightly awkward to wash my hands but just a very minor nitpick. I opted not to include breakfast in my reservation but still was able to eat at the restaurant and pay for what I ordered. There was hardly anyone in the restaurant first thing in the morning, and the server was attentive. The Greek Yogurt bowl had a great presentation, a nice portion, and good enough taste for a light breakfast. With coffee, and a tip, the total was around $14. Overall had a really great one night experience here and would stay again next time I’m in the area.
Everything was perfectly fine except for parking. They have on-site parking garage but they have more rooms than available spaces to park. That creates a parking issue when you get in after 9:00 at night and all of the garage parking is filled. The issue was worked out, we found a temporary solution, but it seems like something that needs to be addressed.
I've stayed at this hotel a few times. It's pretty new and very nice. On this trip however, there were multiple missteps. The restaurant is supposed to be open until 9:15PM. We checked in after a long day of travel just before 9:00PM and had yet to have dinner. I attempted to order food from the bar but they had decided to close early. Upon getting to my room I realized I didn't have toothpaste. Normally this isn't a big deal because most hotels have sample sized toiletries available at the front desk. Not this time, they were out of toothpaste. In the room there was a coffee maker but only decaf K-cups were provided. After checkout I realized the hotel had failed to apply the Diamond member food/beverage credit to my folio. I did contact the front desk who said they would look into it. In general, this is a very nice property, but there are plenty of service related items to work out.
